Sad news from USA is good news for Jeel

The MET has just passed a gift of $10,000 to Jeel in Bethany – this was from the Revd Ron Allison, in memory of his wife Penny.  They arranged many group pilgrimages with McCabe over the years and have been great supporters of ours.

I quote from Najwa’s ‘thank you’ letter to Ron:

First and foremost, we were deeply saddened to hear about the passing away of your dear and beloved wife Mrs Penny.  May her sweet soul rest in peace with the saints and our Lord Jesus Christ.  May God also give you the strength to bare her loss. We will hold a special prayer for her.

Many, many thanks for the kind donation of Ten Thousand US dollars.  We cannot thank you enough for thinking about the children of Jeel Al Amal.  It is so much needed on so many items around the home and boarding section.  From the time my parents founded the home in 1972 up till this date we continue receiving children from very difficult backgrounds, some are orphans, others from very poor and remote areas and some are considered illegitimate in our society, being born out of wedlock.  Each child has a pathetic story behind him.  Jeel al Amal serves the neediest children where some are even not accepted in other places because of the challenges they will be facing.  With love and care many continue up to university and become loving independent individuals.

Today with the coronavirus we are facing more challenges and an extra pressure is placed on the housemothers and teachers who are doing an excellent job working from the heart.  The school is going on, classes rotate by coming to school while others do it via zoom.  Up till now no cases were reported and everybody is safe.

Blessings with much gratitude and appreciation; big hello from the children and everyone at Jeel al Amal.
