Where does the MET money go?
We plan that most of MET’s income comes from the £15 donation that our pilgrims pay on the invoice for their trip and this is match funded by McCabe Travel. But where is it spent? Just over three quarters of our giving in 2018 (£178k) was structured and regular: In The Holy Land, we support the Jeel al Amal Boys Home in Bethany and the Al Shurooq School for the Blind in Bethlehem with regular, sustainable, grants. Further afield, in India, our third partner project is the Anand Niwas Boys Home. In all three cases, we are the major benefactor and our quarterly donation helps pay basic running costs. The other quarter is given in smaller grants to a larger number of projects we meet on our travels. All are Christian run, but help people of all faiths without discrimination. Last year ended with a Christmas gift to needy families in Jerusalem and Bethlehem when £22,500 was shared. Full details can be found in in the 2019 Trust Leaflet.
