The McCabe Story

Alistair McCabe retired in 2020 and during lockdown wrote a memoir of his near forty years running what was initially McCabe Travel, later becoming McCabe Pilgrimages. Integral to the story is the creation and evolution of the McCabe Educational Trust. From small beginnings MET has now given more than four million pounds in grants mostly to Christian entrepreneurs that we have met on our travels. These remarkable people of vision are putting their Christian faith into action, helping needy people of all religions or none.  We are proud that McCabe travellers have contributed this remarkable sum to enable these projects to grow and flourish.

Alistair’s memoir was originally published for family and friends, but the book took on a new meaning with the sudden death in January 2022 of Rosemary Nutt, Alistair’s long-term business partner, and the Trust commissioned a new edition dedicated to Rosemary.  McCabe Pilgrimages covered the production costs, and MET was able to send a donation of £10,000 to Society Biliki in Georgia, Rosemary’s favourite project.

The book is 175 pages with lots of pictures covering four decades of McCabe pilgrimage and we think it will be of interest in different ways to readers associated with the company and charity.
