Sacred Egypt: Monasteries & the Nile

"Out of Egypt I called my son" — Matthew 2:15

Egypt holds a place unlike any other in the Christian story. When Herod's fury threatened the infant Jesus, the Holy Family fled here — into the desert, along the Nile, to shelter in the very monasteries and chapels that still stand today.

This Legacy pilgrimage traces that sacred trail: from the Coptic churches of Cairo and the grandeur of the Pyramids, through the remote monasteries of Upper Egypt, to the timeless Nile — sailed aboard a 5-star cruise between Luxor and Aswan.

Designed for the pilgrim who has walked many roads before, this is a journey of slow attention, deep reflection, and genuine encounter with places where faith has been lived for two thousand years.

"In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the heart of Egypt… It will be a sign and witness to the LORD Almighty in the land of Egypt." — Isaiah 19:19–20
