A journey of faith and discovery in Nepal 2026 – 14 days

Join us on a remarkable journey through the spiritual and cultural heart of Nepal, a land of soaring mountains, sacred spaces and warm hospitality. This carefully crafted itinerary combines moments of reflection and worship with unforgettable encounters in one of the world’s most awe-inspiring settings. We begin in the vibrant capital of Kathmandu, exploring its ancient temples, bustling squares and serene stupas. In Begnas, nestled beside a tranquil lake and surrounded by Himalayan foothills, we pause for rest, renewal and breathtaking views. We’ll visit the village of Daduwa, where McCabe travellers have helped fund and support a thriving school community and share in a powerful experience of connection and hope. Our journey also takes us into the wild beauty of Chitwan National Park, where we enjoy safari experiences and time to witness Nepal’s remarkable wildlife and natural heritage. Throughout the tour, there are opportunities for worship, shared meals, gentle adventure and time at leisure. With warm encounters, scenic landscapes and deep moments of inspiration, this pilgrimage offers more than travel - it offers transformation.

Itinerary

  1. Overnight flight to Kathmandu

    We meet at this airport this afternoon for our overnight flight to Kathmandu

  2. Arrive Kathmandu

    We arrive in Kathmandu this evening, where we are greeted at the airport with a traditional Tibetan Khada welcome. We will transfer to our hotel in Kathmandu for check-in followed by dinner. Three night stay in Kathmandu.

  3. Drive to Patan

    Spend this morning resting after our flight, then this afternoon, we will visit Patan’s intricately carved temples and walk through the city’s old market place selling brass and copperware as well as workshops of stone carvers and statue makers.

  4. Visit Old Kathmandu and Boudhnath Stupa

    We explore Kathmandu Durbar Square this morning before making our way to Boudhnath, where we will eat lunch in a local restaurant. After, we pay a visit to the largest stupa in the country before returning to our hotel in Kathmandu.

  5. Optional Everest flight; walking tour of Bhaktapur

    For those who wish, there is an optional earlymorning flight to view Mount Everest today. The flight usually lasts 45 minutes and provides some of the best views of the world’s highest peak. After returning to our hotel for breakfast, the day’s touring takes us to Pashupatinath Temple on the banks of the sacred Bagmati River. Afterwards, drive to Bhaktapur - the ‘city of devotees’ was the ancient capital of Nepal and is rich in medieval art and architecture.

  6. | Fly to Pokhara; tour of Pokhara Valley; drive to Begnas Bazaar

    Departing from Kathmandu airport, we fly to Pokhara and take a scenic drive to through the Pokhara Valley. After lunch, we drive to Begnas, where we board a boat to take us across the lake to our hotel for the next four nights - the 4* Begnas Lake Resort.

  7. Free time in Begnas; optional hike in the Himalayas (approx five hours)

    After Holy Communion in the hotel this morning, join an optional hike to Begnaskote (about five hours) or spend the day relaxing at Begnas Lake Resort with a chance to take advantage of the spa.

  8. Drive to Dhampus; drive to Pokhara then return to Begnas

    This morning we drive to Dhampus to view the snow-clad Annapurna Mountain Range. After lunch, we drive to Pokhara for a free afternoon to absorb the atmosphere of its colourful bazaars and lakeside restaurants and cafes before returning to our hotel in Begnas.

  9. Visit Daduwa school

    In 1997, McCabe Pilgrimages was introduced to the village of Daduwa. Today, we visit the school there, that was built with funding from The McCabe Educational Trust. We are very proud to check in with the students every time we visit Nepal. The school, situated at 5,500 feet boasts some glorious views and we reach it by 4x4 vehicles - a great experience! We will enjoy lunch together at the school and spend some time meeting students and teachers.

  10. Drive to Chitwan National Park

    A five hour scenic drive takes us to Chitwan in the Terai region of Nepal, bordering India. A fascinating journey with much to see of local life and villages. On our arrival, we enjoy a late lunch together before an afternoon boat ride to view the local birdlife.

  11. Safari in Chitwan National Park

    We spend an adventurous day in Nepal’s first National Park - Chitwan. Established in 1973 and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site 11 years later, we enjoy a guided safari tour to view some of Chitwan’s superlative flora and fauna. The park is also home to two important places of Pilgrimage for Hindus including Bikram Baba Temple.

  12. Fly to Kathmandu

    Today we return to Kathmandu by air. A brief, 20 minute flight will bring us back into the capital. After a visit to the Dukuchhap Donkey Sanctuary, we will spend the rest of the day at leisure in Kathmandu. Take the opportunity to further explore the city or do some souvenir shopping.

  13. Eucharist before transferring to the airport for our flight home

    On our final day in Nepal, we will all join in Eucharist together with the congregation of the Anglican Church Nepal, after which we will enjoy lunch and time for conversation and connection with the local community. We will then transfer to Kathmandu airport for our flight back to the UK.

  14. Arrive in London

    Arrive back at your London Airport.

Essential Information

The cost for this 14 day tour is £4,890 per person. The cost is based on sharing a double or twin-bedded room and includes all excursions and most expenses. A number of single rooms are available for a supplement from £550.

• Return flights from London to Kathmandu
• Internal flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara
• Five nights in Kathmandu on full board basis
• Four nights in Pokhara on full board basis
• Two nights in Chitwan National Park on full board basis
• Private deluxe motor coach for transfers and touring as per itinerary
• English-speaking licensed local guides
• Entrance fees as per itinerary
• Gratuities are included and will be disbursed locally

A £500 per person non-refundable deposit is payable on confirmation. After which, an instalment payment amounting to 50% of the total cost of your trip is due 26 weeks prior to departure with the final balance due twelve weeks prior to departure.

Special requests
Any special requirements, such as dietary needs, mobility requests, and any other requests should be noted at the time of booking.

Late bookings
Please note that for bookings made within 12 weeks of departure, the price may increase due to the fluctuating cost of flights. If this arises, we will always discuss this with you before processing your booking.

Final travel documents
These will be emailed to you two weeks before departure.

Travel insurance
Travel insurance is essential. We require all travellers to have adequate cancellation and medical coverage for their journey. We are partnered with Holiday Extras who offer a comprehensive policy as well as yearly policies that also cover short UK overnight stays.

Mobility
Many of our tours and excursions are designed for those who are able to travel independently, or with the support of a companion who can assist during the trip. We recommend that participants feel comfortable with physical activity and are able to manage longer travel days, which may include early starts and extended periods on the road. Please note that the quality of vehicles and roads may vary from what you’re accustomed to in the UK. We encourage you to consider your personal health and comfort when planning your adventure, and we’re happy to help if you have any specific concerns or questions about the suitability of a tour for your needs.

The McCabe Educational Trust
The McCabe Educational Trust is an independent registered charity which was set up in 1991 to support Christian communities. To date the Trust has distributed more than £4 million in grants. McCabe Pilgrimages supports the Trust directly by contributing to the administrative and running costs, thus ensuring all pilgrim donations are able to go directly to the important projects supported by the MET. In 2026 McCabe Pilgrimages will once again invite all pilgrims to make a voluntary donation of £20. In addition, McCabe will also donate £20 for every pilgrim who travels with us - regardless of whether they choose to donate - effectively doubling the impact when you do. This scheme is voluntary and confidential with nobody put under any pressure to participate.

Passports and visas
• Please ensure that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond the end of this pilgrimage. If you need a new passport apply early as there can be considerable backlogs at the passport offices.
• British passport holders travelling to Nepal must have a visa. Please ask the team for more information when booking.
• Non British passport holders will need to contact us for further details.

Vaccinations
• If you’re travelling to Nepal from the UK, it’s important to ensure your routine vaccinations are up to date. We recommend consulting your GP or a travel clinic at least 6-8 weeks before travel for the most up-to-date and personalised advice.
• Please carry an adequate supply of essential medication in your hand luggage in case your checked luggage is lost.

Financial security
All monies paid are fully protected through McCabe’s membership of the ABTOT bonding scheme. In addition, McCabe are also members of the Association of Independent Tour Operators and abide by the Association’s code of conduct. This pilgrimage is ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. The McCabe ATOL number is 2920.
