Living Stones in Romania

When the Revd John Robinson led a pilgrimage to Romania towards the end of 2019 he took his group to St Margaret’s Hospice in Bucharest, one of several institutions in Romania run by Copii in Dificultate (Children in Difficulty).  This charity started in 1990 by taking lorry loads of supplies to Romania when the plight of disabled children abandoned in terrible state orphanages first hit the world’s headlines.  The charity’s mission statement or strapline is “To cure, sometimes; to help, often; to comfort, always.”  In addition to the cheque for £360 being handed over, pilgrims then

spontaneously handed over more.  Then on the coach to the airport at the end of the tour, an envelope was passed round for any remaining currency, which meant an extra £200 for St Margaret’s.
