A library on top of the world!
Daduwa School in Nepal was the vision of the Revd Andrew McCabe and was completed in 1996 with funding from the McCabe Educational Trust. Fifteen years on, Andrew returned to the school with his nephew Alistair on a family visit comprising three generations of McCabe’s. For Angus and Eva, 11 and 13 years old, it was a life-changing experience.
Over the years McCabe travel parties have visited the school, providing encouragement and practical support. On the McCabe’s visit we were able to see the latest McCabe initiative come to fruition: a mountain-top library!
Teaching was hampered by the absence of reading material, something which we take for granted. The only books in the school were those used by the teachers. Thankfully Supporters of the McCabe Educational Trust rose to the challenge and not only raised the finance, but provided the technical expertise and the manpower.
For more than twenty years, The McCabe Educational Trust has been creating partnerships with inspiring people we have met on pilgrimage. A special thank you to McCabe pilgrims who helped us raise £13,587 during April. A total of £74,143 this year!
With your help, we will continue helping those in need we encounter on our travels.
