THE JERUSALEM ‘TRINITY WALK’

What will you be doing on New Year’s Day ?

A bit early to be asking you this question admittedly, but McCabe pilgrim Elizabeth Price (above) will be dismounting the donkey and walking 9 miles around the old city walls of Jerusalem to raise funds for two children’s homes in Bethany: Jeel Al Amal Home for Boys and the Lazarus Home for Girls.  As you may well be aware, these two children’s homes have had the ongoing support of the McCabe Educational Trust for several years. Elizabeth first visited Jeel al Amal and Lazarus in 2007 when she met the co-founder, the late Alice Sahhar.

If you fancy joining Elizabeth you can email her at: bizzy.lizzy808@btinternet.com

Prisoners support the Lazarus School for Girls

The Revd Geoff Hebbern, who is Assistant Chaplain of a prison in the south of England, has recently been in touch with us and kindly sent donations totalling over £1,000, with the hope of further donations to follow. This follows a visit to the Holy Land he made last November. Subsequently he was in conversation with a prisoner (who had become a Christian in the last few years) and wanted to help in some way. The idea was born to make crosses in the carpentry production shop in the prison.

For more than twenty years, the McCabe Educational Trust has been creating partnerships with inspiring people we have met on pilgrimage.  A special Thank You to McCabe pilgrims who helped us raise £107,651 during this summer contributing to a total of £235,173 raised so far this year!

With your help, we will continue helping those in need we encounter on our travels.
