JANUARY NEWSLETTER 2009
WE WOULD LIKE TO WISH OUR FRIENDS A HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Last year was a record breaking year for the Trust. Over the Christmas period we were enormously grateful for donations of £16,068 towards our work, contributing to a grand total for the year of £186,127
McCABE EDUCATIONAL TRUST IN 2009
Our number one priority in 2009 is to see the completion of the new Lazarus Home for Girls in Bethany. The McCabe Educational Trust and McCabe Pilgrimages contributed £100,000 to the project during 2008. Our target is to raise a further £200,000 over the next two years.
TRUST PARTNERSHIP PROJECTS
A new clinic and health care project is being created in India among the Tharu tribe in the Terai forest in North East Bihar. The project is the initiative of the Revd Andrew McCabe MBE and the McCabe Educational Trust is co-ordinating the funding. The congregation of Charlotte Baptist Chapel in Edinburgh have provided an initial grant of £26,000 to set up the project.
In Bethlehem, the Trust is co-operating with Rochester Diocese in an innovative Music Therapy programme. To date £25,000 has been raised. Claire Tillotson is conducting a series of training workshops in Bethlehem and we are now looking for a suitable musician in the Bethlehem area to sponsor through a training course in Britain who would then return to Bethlehem as a trainer replacing Claire.
