Hanan, Director of Al Shurooq writes:

“We deeply appreciate the loyal support of MET without which, we would be in dire straights. Since the inception of our collaboration, we have changed beyond recognition: enrolling students from diverse backgrounds, establishing a preschool programme and this summer we are building a resource centre to support children with learning difficulties. Music is now a key component with specialist teachers coming in and music groups have been formed who have performed in public raising the profile of Al Shurooq.

Unfortunately, the effect of the ongoing Gaza conflict has been the almost complete cessation of our usual sources of income: parents can’t afford to contribute as they can no longer go to work and the Palestinian Authority has no funds. Without additional support, we risk losing dedicated staff.

Please remember us in your prayers. Our situation is not sustainable. Any additional funding from supporters will be life changing.”
