Congratulations to our own Reverend Paul Ellerby

The entire team at McCabe is proud to announce that one of McCabe’s own Directors Paul Ellerby is being ordained priest at St. Pancras New Church, Euston Road on Saturday June 24th at 3pm, together with his wife Catherine and eight other deacons in the Edmonton area. Paul was ordained deacon in July 2022 at St Paul’s Cathedral. His discernment process began in December 2019 at his sending church St James Muswell Hill in North London.

Without any delay he found himself on a journey where doors seemed to open very quickly. Discreet conversations with the area Director of Training soon led to being fully embroiled in the church’s selection process. COVID hit and the usual 3-day residential Bishops Advisory Panel moved online. At first the plan was that after a busy summer of Oberammergau in 2020 behind him, Paul would begin two years of part time ordination training. As we know Oberammergau was delayed until 2022 so study was paused after the first year due to Paul’s work commitments at McCabe. Paul continues his work while being a part-time self-supporting curate at Christchurch Southgate alongside the Revd Dr Chrichton Limbert, who himself took his Parish to Oberammergau with McCabe.

As our advisor on matters of faith, beliefs and pilgrimages we congratulate Paul and Catherine…sorry…Reverend Paul and Reverend Catherine as they embark on this wonderful chapter which is a big asset to McCabe.
