An appeal for Nepal

Nepal is one of the friendliest nations on earth and one of the poorest.

We have joined forces with the PAHAR TRUST NEPAL to try and do our little bit to help.

Twenty years ago The McCabe Educational Trust built Daduwa School in partnership with Pahar and over the years this partnership has strengthened.  All the improvements at Daduwa have been carried out with their help and Pahar have now built one hundred similar schools: a remarkable achievement.

When news of the earthquake came through, we feared the worst.  Thankfully, Daduwa and all of the Pahar schools are intact, largely due to earthquake proof engineering.   But, many of the villages they serve have been devastated with the schools turned into temporary refuges.

We are calling for donations to help these villages recover from this disaster.   Every penny raised will be sent to the Pahar Trust who have people on the ground now assessing the damage and preparing a long-term plan of action to repair schools and help children and their families rebuild lives. The monsoon will shortly arrive and proper shelter will become critical.

McCabe Pilgrimages are launching this appeal with an initial £5,000 donation.  We urge you to contribute.
