A summer like no other in the Holy Land

This is a summer like no other in the Holy Land. The Princess Basma hospital that we visit on the Mt. of Olives also operates in Gaza. On 7 July their medical unit in Gaza was forced to close by an evacuation order. The brave staff continue their work living among the displaced at great personal risk. This was followed by the closure of the Anglican Al Ahli hospital for the same reason. All patients had to be evacuated. Among our friends in the Holy Land there are none unaffected. All have lost someone close to them.

We keep in close contact with our partner projects and despite the unrelenting horrors surrounding them, we see smiling faces and children being kept safe by the remarkable people looking after them. Somehow, a semblance of normal life does continue.

For Jeel al Amal boys home and Al Shurooq Blind school, the McCabe Educational Trust is a lifeline when other income sources have disappeared. We thank our loyal supporters who enable us to continue providing regular reliable grants. In both cases, we are the only consistent source of income they have. In turn, we rely on the monthly standing orders from so many of you to keep these regular grants flowing.

We look forward to pilgrimage resuming when a priority will be to arrange a supporters pilgrimage to visit Jeel and Al Shurooq. That will be a special day for us and them!

We pray for an end to hostilities.
