Planning

2006 Our first meetings with the Passion Play authorities have been very positive and both sides are committed to a successful co-operation in 2010.

2007 The Passion Play office in Oberammergau officially opens. One of their first tasks is to contract all of the accommodation in and around the village. Ticket and accommodation prices are agreed and published.

2007 Three Hundred McCabe travellers from all over Britain participate in a special McCabe Oberammergau Weekend including a performance of Bach’s St Matthew Passion in the Passion Play theatre.

The McCabe office invites party organisers to register their interest in taking a group to see the Passion Play.

2008 We receive confirmation of arrangements from the Passion Play office and publish our brochure. Party organisers now have a period of time to gather their groups together and collect deposits.

2009 We will be required to pay in full for our ticket allocation in August. For this reason we will be asking for a second stage payment to be paid to us in July.

2010 We anticipate a 20 week season beginning late May and ending early October with performances 5 days a week.

Oberammergau is a village of wood carvers and this skill is passed down from father to son. You can see carvers at work and other craftsmen in the wonderfully painted Pilatus house in the village centre
