Turkey

Our most popular itinerary is the original McCabe Pauline journey through Turkey, refined and improved upon through the years. An 11 day programme recommended as the ideal first pilgrimage to New Testament Turkey including the “essential” elements of Istanbul and the Seven Churches of Asia.

A second itinerary (with some long journeys) features Tarsus, the birthplace of St Paul and Antioch, his ‘home’ church. We explore the cave churches of Cappadocia and in Konya encounter the Whirling Dervishes. All along Turkey’s southern coast we visit the magnificent remains of Hellenic, Roman and Byzantine cities.

A third option is expensive but quite unique. We charter traditional Turkish sailing boats (gulets) each with berths for around fifteen people and literally sail where Paul sailed! A one week cruise can be combined with the Seven churches of Asia, Istanbul or the region around Cappadocia.

Our fleet of gulets is moored in the ancient harbour of Knidos, a port St. Paul frequented as he sailed along these shores on his missionary journeys
