St Paul was the first to bring Christianity to Europe and this 10 day pilgrimage will bring to life the early churches Paul founded and corresponded with. Names so familiar from the New Testament including Thessalonika, Philippi and Corinth.

Our pilgrimage begins in Kavala (ancient Neapolis) where Paul first landed. From our northern starting point, we travel the length of Greece with overnight stops in Thessalonika and Kalambaka where we visit the fantastic Meteora monasteries. We visit the ancient oracle at Delphi before reaching our final destination which is, like Paul, Athens. Here he preached his famous sermon introducing the Athenians to the “unknown God”. We will visit the Areopagus where Paul preached and the incomparable Parthenon adorning the Acropolis.

A new highlight incorporated in our programme is a real mountain-top experience with a thoroughly modern Greek Orthodox monastic community

Tim Rhys-Evans was the Musical Director of the BBC Daily Service choir which toured Greece with McCabe. View highlights of this pilgrimage on the slide show attached to this page
